How to Register
It is important to note that you can only permanently register with a GP practice if you’re staying within the area for more than 3 months.
If you are staying within the area for more than 3 months, please follow these new patient registration procedures:
- Initially, you should check that your home address is within our practice catchment area. You can do this by using the “Our Practice Catchment Area” section below. Out of catchment area registration forms submitted to us will NOT be processed.
2. If your home address is in our catchment area you should complete the new patient registration form by clicking on “Complete the form” section at the bottom of this page. PLEASE NOTE: If you have a medical condition or a valid reason for why you would be unable to complete our online new patient registration form, then please contact our Medical Reception Team for advice. You can contact them on 0131 229 7709 or visit the practice.
3. Once you have completed and submitted the new patient registration form, you should bring 2 x forms of identification into the practice within the next 7 working days. You will find a list of acceptable forms of ID by clicking on the “Registration Policy” section at the bottom of this page.
PLEASE NOTE: We would kindly ask you to bring your ID to the practice for verifying from Monday to Thursday only, and between the times of 10am and 4pm only (note the practice is closed between the hours of 12pm and 1pm daily). If you are unable to attend during these days/times, then please contact our Medical Reception team by calling 0131 229 7709, and they will do their best to accommodate a more convenient time for you to bring your ID verification into us.
PLEASE NOTE: Acceptance on to our patient list is at the discretion of the Doctor and you providing the appropriate forms of identification. Please be reminded to attend the practice within 7 working days of submitting your new patient registration form, or your forms will be discarded. Thank you.
PLEASE NOTE: There can be a significant delay for your medical records to be transferred from your previous practice.

West Savile Terrace, Charterhall Road, Cluny Gardens, Comiston Road and Greenbank Drive to the south. Bounded to the west from Greenbank Drive to Craighouse Road, following the railway track (which passes the University Athletic Ground, Colinton Road, Slateford Road, Gorgie Road, West Approach Road, Russell Road and Dalry Road) to Morrison Street.
Please use the Map below to see if your address is within our catchment area (shaded area of the map)
The practice has a non-discrimination policy for accepting new patients. There are a number of reasons why you may not be able to register with your chosen GP, for example you may live too far away. If this is the case, simply choose another GP in your local area.
PLEASE NOTE: If you were previously registered with a Doctor outside the UK, then the Practice will NOT have access to your medical records. All patients who register from abroad, should contact their previous Doctor to obtain copies of their medical records translated into English please. Thank you.
